Hi everyone,
Not too much to report. Ryan had his second and final visit from the nurse today and he's officially hit the 5lb mark! We also met with the early intervention service coordinator today to set up an evaluation for Ryan. Based on this evaluation it will be determined what kinds of services he needs. Even though Ryan is technically a little over two months (chronological age) he's still only 37 weeks (adjusted age). This service is basically set up to help Ryan with his developmental skills. Since he was born early, he's not going to be completing the milestones typical of newborn babies. For example, most 6mo. olds can sit up, where as Ryan probably won't be able to sit up until he's about 9mos. Most preemies "catch up" to their counterparts by the age of two and the support services are there to make sure this happens.
Well, I hope you all had a nice St. Patrick's Day - here are some pics to enjoy!
